Before Congress, Shirley Chisholm was a child care teacher and director. She later championed a universal child care bill through Congress, only to have it vetoed by Nixon. For her 102nd birthday we're throwing her a party, with cake, games and music for the kids, and launching our campaign to Pay Our Providers.
